The Job Youll Do; Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements. This may involve conducting time and motion studies on new and existing processes Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. Seek quotes for prices of component parts, services or machines which achieve the objectives listed above. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Responsible for producing factory lay-out and floorplan reflecting the desired process flow paths, using AutoCAD or similar Responsible for maintaining work centres, cost centres and machine capacity available times on ERP Analyse factory output and operator efficiencies to improve output Maintain company standard times for future costing and current efficiency output Identify factory bottlenecks to increase throughput Analyse idle times and advise on improvements [Line balancing] Where appropriate, provide training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals. With the Production Management Team, develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability. Trouble shoot production concerns and facilitate cross functional teams to lead and implement improvements required by determining root cause, developing solutions and finally leading implementation. Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends. Create, develop and release Standardised Work Instructions About You; Minimum of 3 years working in a manufacturing/production/industrial engineering role. CAD and experience of Standardised Working is essential. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles ( desirable) Commercial awareness The ability to work well under pressure within an agreed timeline.
