Day surgery services, outpatient Minor Oral Surgery operating, and outpatient clinics are delivered on both sites. The Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at Rotherham General Hospital treats the full spectrum of OMFS diagnoses. The department treats a large volume of maxillofacial trauma, and in addition to the routine management of trauma, the consultants in the department are experienced in the use of up-to-date techniques such as orbital reconstruction using custom-made orbital implants, and the management of fractures of the mandibular condyle with endoscopically assisted fixation. Approximately 350 emergency cases are operated on in the department every year.
