Hunter AHP is currently seeking an experienced Locum ACT Pharmacy Technician to join a reputable NHS hospital in Buckinghamshire. This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician to support the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services, working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective medication management for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) for prescription orders and medicines dispensed.
2. Ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medication in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
3. Work collaboratively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to support medication management across the hospital.
4. Conduct medicines reconciliation and assist in medication reviews on patient admissions and discharges.
5. Provide technical support to the pharmacy team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
6. Manage the stock control of medications and ensure appropriate medication storage and handling.
Essential Requirements:
1. ACT qualification and previous experience as an Accuracy Checking Technician.
2. GPhC registration as a pharmacy technician.
3. Previous hospital or NHS experience is highly desirable.
4. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
5. Excellent communication and team-working skills.
6. Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
Hourly Rates: The position offers competitive hourly rates between £15 to £20 per hour, depending on experience. The role is flexible, with the option to work 3, 4, or 5 days per week, offering a great work-life balance.
