Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £62,440 - £75,000 salary range (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

AWE is currently recruiting for a Lead Technical Sponsor for the Production Operations Group. This role is ideally suited for someone with technical understanding of processes who enjoys working in diverse teams across a range of operational environments.
Working within the Production Operations Group, the successful candidate will be required to undertake nuclear understanding on operations that support manufacturing processes.
Who are we looking for?
We do need you to have the following:
1. Engineering or scientist qualification or experience
2. Working knowledge of a manufacturing environment
Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following:
1. Operations in a high hazard environment
2. Delivery of projects
3. Manufacturing techniques
4. Application of safety cases
You’ll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
Key Accountabilities:
1. To engage with internal and/or external customers to raise AWE's profile and sustain demand for the organisation's products and services.
2. To shape value propositions that influence the direction of AWE programme to ensure AWE has the capabilities now and in the future.
3. To act as a formal approver and technical decision maker for work delivered to the programme or through commercial contracts.
4. To articulate risk and work with programme/project managers to shape mitigation plans.
5. To lead, coach and develop a team of leaders and influence others at specialism or functional level to create and deliver our operational plans.
6. To maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
7. Additional accountabilities for this job profile may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements, with appointees listed within the Company Design Authorities and Technical Authorities, as held in the company management system.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To derive requirements and set programme direction in a number of different capability areas by working with colleagues across the business and external customer(s).
2. To set smart acceptance criteria to enable efficient and effective programme/project planning, through liaison with the subject matter experts, the customer and programme.
3. To represent the capability areas and act as the interface with the customer and programme.
4. To engage with customer’s technical managers to understand their needs and shape value propositions that link their requirements to the organisation's products and services.
5. To ensure effective communications between the programme and customers.
6. If required, to deliver assigned projects to time, cost and quality, compliant with AWE processes.
7. The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 2-3 days onsite per week.
