Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/Part-time
GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Autism Support Worker to join a fantastic school in Blandford, where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with autism. This is an excellent chance to provide one-on-one and group support to students, helping them develop the skills they need to thrive in their education.
As an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support to students with autism, ensuring they are included and fully engaged in their learning experience.
Responsibilities of the Autism Support Worker:
* Provide individual support to students with autism, assisting with their learning, social interactions, and personal care.
* Work with teachers to adapt and implement learning activities that cater to each student's specific needs.
* Help students manage sensory challenges, emotions, and behaviours in a positive and supportive manner.
* Assist in promoting social skills and encouraging independence in students.
* Support students during breaks, lunchtime, and other activities outside the classroom.
* Keep records of student progress and communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
Requirements of the Autism Support Worker:
* Experience working with students or individuals with autism is highly desirable but not essential.
* A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to working with students with autism.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
* Passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with autism.
* Eligible to work in the UK and have an Enhanced DBS on Update Service.
