Forklift Driver - Combi and Counterbalance

Job Description
A well-established pipe manufacturer in the Chesterfield area is seeking skilled Combi and Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) Drivers to join our team. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers the chance to showcase your expertise in handling both combi and counterbalance forklifts, with the potential to secure a permanent position in our vastly expanding business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safely operate combi forklifts to handle long pipe products and materials in a busy manufacturing environment.
2. Move, stack, and organize pipes and other inventory efficiently in confined spaces.
3. Load and unload trucks with precision, ensuring products are handled securely.
4. Perform regular equipment inspections to maintain safety and ensure optimal performance.
5. Work closely with the production and warehouse teams to meet daily operational targets.

Duration: This role is a Temporary to Permanent role.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hourly Rate: £13.16, this is from a 15% shift bonus from £11.44! Pay Increase: After 12 weeks, the rate will rise to £13.16 per hour, then to £14.24 per hour, both including the 15% shift allowance. Overtime Rates: Weekday overtime: 1.3x the hourly rate. Saturday (up to 6 hours): 1.5x the hourly rate. Saturday (over 6 hours): 1.55x the hourly rate. Sunday: 2x the hourly rate. Please note we do not offer Visa Sponsorships!
Working Hours: This role is Monday to Friday with split shifts of 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00.

Experience & Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications that you would need to be successful for the job:
1. Valid combi forklift operator certification (or willingness to certify).
2. Experience operating combi forklifts in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment—preferably with long or heavy materials.
3. Strong attention to detail, especially when handling oversized or sensitive products.
4. A reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented attitude.
