Key Responsibilities
1. The Mechanical Engineer (ME) will essentially be responsible for supporting the Mechanical Engineering department and the Sales department on request.
2. Act as a lead engineer on a project as and when required, ensuring customer satisfaction and successful delivery of all design projects allocated while adhering to company policies and business regulations.
3. The role requires a strong knowledge of general physics laws and mathematics for problem-solving. The mechanical engineer needs to be a strong analytical thinker capable of solving problems brought to them by clients or employers.
4. Creativity skills are necessary to develop new concepts and products to satisfy our customer market.
5. The ME must be comfortable with 3D designing tools for modeling ideas into technical plans and schemes.
6. Strong communication skills are essential; the ME must be able to explain their ideas clearly and effectively and ensure that those unfamiliar with mechanical engineering can understand and buy in.
7. Mechanical engineering includes teamwork within the ME department and collaboration with colleagues from other departments.
8. The Mechanical Engineer will be expected to work in the design office, but there may be some time spent visiting customers and/or suppliers.
9. An inquiring and problem-solving mindset, creativity, good knowledge of design software (mainly CATIA V5), and the ability to work in a team are all mandatory qualities needed for this role.
Experience / Background Required
1. Degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
2. Experience leading design projects.
3. Experience working with equipment such as machinery/automation.
4. Highly proficient with 3D software such as Catia, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
5. Good knowledge of GD&T and FEA.
6. Excellent communication skills.
