Job summary Ward 37 is a busy 20 bedded mixed surgical ward comprising of General surgery, colorectal, orthopaedics and urology. This post will require you to be reliable, flexible, motivated, have excellent clinical and leadership skills, a commitment to ongoing learning and development, a commitment to delivering high quality care and be willing and open to embracing positive change and transformation meeting the demands of the community we serve. The department is committed to appraisal, to support continuous education and professional development. You will be required to participate in providing 24 hour cover. Ward 37 is looking for an experienced and motivated qualified nurse to join our team who will be able to act as a senior, registered Nurse, with proven leadership skills, providing a high standard of care to our patients. About us We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
