About The Role Working Days: Night, weekend and weekend night shifts are required within the working pattern. As the Portering and Security Manager, you'll be at the helm of a dynamic team of Security and Porters, driving a culture of collaboration and excellence. Your mission is to ensure compliance with SIA regulations and maintain top-notch operational standards. You'll coordinate activities with a keen focus on patient safety, fostering a high-performance environment where teamwork thrives. Working closely with various stakeholders, you'll ensure that service requirements and contractual obligations are consistently met. Your role involves overseeing daily operations, from monitoring access points to conducting regular patrols and swiftly responding to incidents. You'll also conduct regular audits to uphold the highest standards of security and portering services. Optimising staffing levels and promoting a safe environment throughout the hospital will be key priorities. You'll take financial accountability seriously, always seeking efficiencies and implementing cost-effective solutions. Adaptability is crucial, as you'll support 24/7 services, ensuring that all staff have regular access to management and fostering open communication across all shifts. SIA license is not required for starting however will form a part of the requirement after joining the company. The role is required to work varied shifts including night shifts and weekends to ensure all colleagues have management contact. As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership, direction, and delegation to staff. Promote and share best practice. Oversee the delivery of portering and security at a high level that meets contractual obligations. Identify, mitigate and control risks by taking a risk-based approach to the management of Service Parameters and contracted operational compliance, identifying control measures and monitoring required actions. Identify areas of noncompliance or elevated risk of failure; planning and monitoring remedial actions within agreed timeframes and to agreed action plans. Maximise staffing levels and efficiency by actively engaging with recruitment process, colleague engagement and staff development programs Have profit and loss accountability for the Security and Portering Services to ensure that budgetary targets are met. Actively maximise and protect revenue within the services. The Ideal Candidate Should Meet The Following Criteria Must have Right to Work in the UK An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate. SIA license or willingness to obtain. Managerial experience of large multi-skilled teams. Cleaning experience with knowledge of infection control in a hospital environment. Knowledge of Security Industry code of practice. Experience of P&L and budgetary management. Experience in report writing for complex subjects to be effectively communicated to various stakeholders.
