Purchasing Agent—HVAC / Plumbing Experience!
We would love to find someone with HVAC or Plumbing TRADE experience and familiarity with our Parts, Materials, Vendors, and Suppliers!
Full Time - Hourly position - Our Warehouse Operations Team is GROWING! We are BUSY!
This role you will be sitting onsite at our Lancaster, PA location.
Additionally: Experience in Inventory Management of Construction materials, Automotive or Mechanical parts is helpful!
Procurement, Warehouse, Inventory & Vendor Management experience required.
The buyer position is critical to the growth and success of LEN THE PLUMBER HEATING & AIR! As an LTP Purchasing Agent, you will work with the Warehouse and operations team to supervise and coordinate the buying of HVAC/Plumbing products, materials, and services professionally. Your responsibilities also include monitoring purchasing expenses, vendor pricing, parts expediting, and keeping track of accounts/contracts.
Essential Job Functions:
* Execute sourcing of materials to meet cost, timing and quality objectives.
* Partner with business unit leaders and provide excellent service in support of company goals.
* Maintenance of vendor price lists and supplier relationships.
* Vendor price alignment with company’s profit target.
* Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
* Verify purchase orders by comparing items requested to take-off sheets; clarifying unclear items; and recommending alternatives.
* Verify vendor acknowledgements and ensure timely delivery.
* Maintain good and positive working relationships with distributors, suppliers, and internal departments.
* Collaborate with other departments to resolve quantity, quality, and supply issues in a timely and efficient manner.
* Review and resolve back orders, warranty parts, and returns.
Qualifications:
* 3-5 years’ experience in tactical procurement, buying and expediting of service/warehouse parts.
* 2+ years’ experience in purchasing for HVAC or similar industry.
* Knowledge of the basic principles of inventory management.
* Service Titan experience is a plus.
* Applicants with previous experience in a mechanical field such as HVAC, plumbing, or automotive service are preferred.
* Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency.
* High energy with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Analytical problem solver with strong organizational skills.
* Detail-oriented, well-organized, and committed to driving results.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable operating in a matrix organization.
* Familiarity with procure-to-pay processes (i.e., PO, Approval, Supplier Confirmation, Expediting, and Receiving).
* Ability to handle high volume during peak demand times.
Experience/Education:
* High School Diploma or equivalent required; associates and college degrees preferred.
* Background in HVAC / Plumbing is preferable.
