Victoria Surgery in Bury St Edmunds has an opportunity for a prescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team, on a part-time basis for 16-20 hours per week over 4 or 5 days.
Main duties of the job
* Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking email requests and involves a rota system to cover the collection and drop-off of all prescriptions from each site.
* Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes, and district nurses regarding the issue of prescriptions.
* Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
* Sending out review letters.
* Liaising and discussing any queries raised by the clinical team in terms of medicine management.
* Keeping up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols.
Flexibility to cover other areas is also required.

Experience
* Possess experience of working in a busy public environment.
