Fluent speaker of Farsi/Persian, Pashto or Dari required.
Norbury School would like to appoint a Parent Ambassador. This is an exciting initiative which is entering its fourth year. It is supported and part-funded by John Lyon’s Charity. We plan for the Parent Ambassador project to run for a further three years, but the post advertised will be for one year initially, with a view to the successful candidate’s contract being extended onwards. Given the nature of the funding, the contract could allow some further flexibility in addition to the 12 hours advertised.
We want to recruit people who are reliable, committed and hard-working. The job entails working with children, parents and staff from diverse cultural, religious and linguistic backgrounds to improve social and learning relationships across members of the school community.
You will work to ensure the inclusion, well-being and educational outcomes of pupils are improved and vulnerable communities are helped to integrate in both school and the local community.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are required. You will need to be able to prioritise a busy workload, act on your initiative but with direction from the school’s leadership team and be ICT-literate.
You will enjoy working with people from varied backgrounds and cultures, and you will be able to speak and write in either Farsi/Persian, Pashto or Dari.
Closing date: Tuesday 21st January 2025
Interviews: Wednesday 29th January 2025
