The review found the current HR/OD service to be highly competent, professional and trusted with a clear future focus. Our local government client requires an experienced senior HR professional who can lead and manage some distinct services through a challenging period as well as provide additional support for the review, proposals and restructure of HR/OD. Key responsibilities of the Interim Head of Organisational Development and Change include: Having overall responsibility for Organisational Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Learning and all HR Advisory functions Leading, delivering and embedding innovative and transformative cultural change and organisation strategies Providing strategic capacity to support the shaping of the HR TOM and support implementation of the restructure of HR/OD Providing complex HR advice, guidance and analysis, specifically around workforce planning, organisational design, equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring best practice and legislative compliance Managing relationships with Trade Unions in relation to restructures and reviews, and employee advisory services, and supporting the Council’s approach to Social Partnership Leading the HR Business Partners to proactively enable major structural change programmes such as restructuring, redundancy, TUPE transfer, policy consultation, managing the organisational impact and the people implications Essential experience and skills required for the Interim Head of Organisational Development and Change: Demonstrable experience working in the same or similar role within a local government organisation Must have a proven track record of supporting an organisation and HR through change, and navigating this at pace as well as handling restructures and reviews simultaneously Excellent partnership working and stakeholder management skills Strong people management skills Commercially minded, tactical and able to get up to speed quickly
