Job summary An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our therapy technician team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team of many professions, including Occupational Therapy, Podiatry and Orthotics. The role will require high levels of communication, flexibility and problem solving skills. The role involves fitting therapy equipment at patient's houses to support discharges from hospital, going on access visits with the Therapists to support patient's safe discharge home and supporting the Podiatry team with MSK equipment and modifications, amongst other roles and responsibilities. Location of intervention can be at the patients home, clinic or other community setting and thus ability to travel to different geographic locations either through use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs is required. This post is a band 3 however can be supported by the apprenticeship route - Senior Health Care Support Worker Apprenticeship. Main duties of the job To complete equipment referrals from Occupational Therapists to deliver and fit therapy equipment, grab rails and stair rails in patients home address. To document all patient related information / job completion of referrals on the Electronic Patient Record system. To feedback verbally to the referring Occupational Therapist the outcome of the equipment referral. To liaise with equipment services at Burrows House to ensure the correct therapy equipment is ordered and fitted. To carry out any appropriate administrative tasks within the department. To contribute to Occupational Therapy team working such as reviewing patients use of equipment that has been provided by Occupational Therapists during follow-up visits. To support other AHP services such as Podiatry / Orthotics with equipment provision as required.
