MarkJames Search are working with a well known company, to recruit a Senior Group Reporting Accountant, on a long term contract basis due to increased workload. Reporting to the Statutory Reporting Manager, this role involves working closely with the Director of Group Reporting and other senior Finance contacts.
The Senior Group Reporting Accountant role is a key member of the team, responsible for the preparation of the listed group Annual Report and Accounts ("ARA") and Interim Results Statement. You will work primarily on specific accounting areas for the group financial statements, including note preparation for the accounts, and work to enhance documentation and controls.
This role offers hybrid working, with 2-3 days in either the Perth or Glasgow office.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Group Reporting Accountant:
1. Group Financial Statements: Prepare and review of the disclosure and supporting information for key notes within the consolidated financial statements of the group in accordance with the ARA, Preliminary Results, and Interim Results timetables.
2. Subsidiary Accounts: Review of subsidiary financial statements and manage the audit for certain corporate and holding entities. Become a super-user for the Group's accounts production software (Thomson-Reuters OneSource) and provide support to divisional business users preparing their subsidiary financial statements.
3. Accounting Projects: Support the Statutory Reporting Manager and Technical Reporting Manager on financial reporting projects, such as the adoption of new accounting standards and group investment and divestment activities and replacement of the consolidation reporting tool.
4. Control & Compliance: Assist in implementation of 'UK SOX' requirements for financial statements process. Ensure compliance with all applicable standards, legislation, and code.
Key skills, experience and qualifications required for the Senior Group Reporting Accountant role:
5. Qualified Accountant (ACA. ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
6. Relevant experience in Financial Reporting or External Audit, ideally from a PLC environment
7. Full and up to date knowledge of accounting standards and corporate governance requirements
8. The ability to manage numerous complex tasks simultaneously
9. Personal resilience, drive and self motivation
10. Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to assimilate complex issues in to reporting and accounting solutions.
11. Ideally you will be available to start on a maximum of one months' notice.
