Hourly Rate: £11.72 - £12.78
Annual Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 (Term-Time Only)
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, Term-Time Only
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with students aged 11-16 who have special educational needs, including Autism. You'll provide valuable in-class support, as well as assist with practical outdoor activities like Bushcraft and life skills sessions. Your role will be crucial in their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide personalised support to ensure students' safety and well-being.
2. Help students meet their Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP) targets.
3. Implement positive behaviour strategies tailored to individual needs.
4. Keep accurate records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety matters.
5. Encourage social interaction and teamwork among students.
What We're Looking For:
No prior experience is necessary-what matters most is your enthusiasm and commitment to working with young people. We're seeking candidates who have:
6. A strong desire to help young people and build supportive relationships.
7. The ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
8. A positive, creative approach to problem-solving.
9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
10. Basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
11. GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
