PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
At JLR, we design and build future vehicles, powered by advanced automotive systems featuring assisted and automated driving capabilities.
This year-long undergraduate programme introduces you to these systems, equipping you with technical skills and practical experience to become a successful engineer. Placement departments include: Engineering Propulsion, Digital Product Platform, Engineering Business Excellence, Engineering Body Chassis, and Engineering Operations. Your placement will depend on your preferences and business needs.
Engineering Propulsion (EP) Team
Focuses on electric drive units, energy storage, engines, batteries, transmissions, and drivelines, supporting JLR’s electrification goals and sustainability commitments.
Digital Product Platform Team
Designs and develops electronic systems and complex vehicle features, focusing on system and component modeling, development, and validation.
Engineering Body Chassis (EBC) Team
Responsible for the engineering of visible vehicle components, translating creative concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions.
Engineering Operations (EO) Team
Supports innovation and product delivery through project management, data analytics, and prototyping, involving rotations across divisions.
Development and Support
Our programmes foster curiosity and creativity, offering industry insights, technical training, and mentoring to prepare you for industry challenges.
Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in systems engineering, electronic and communications engineering, computer science, software engineering, cryptography, maths, or physics, with at least penultimate year status. Strong problem-solving, numerical, interpersonal skills, and confidence to initiate new projects are essential. The programme begins on 7th July 2025.
Rewards and Benefits
