We’re currently undergoing recruitment for a Business Development Manager to join our company in the Wrexham area.
This is a full-time position with a starting salary of £35,000 basic per annum, with the opportunity to earn an extra £10,000 commission. 40 hours peer week.
Main roles and responsibilities:
Drive profitable sales growth within both the existing customer base and new business opportunities.
Establish annual forecasts for each customer, leveraging historical data and incorporating realistic growth targets.
Achieve KPI targets, including individual sales and gross margin goals, customer visits per week, NPD/brand initiatives, and other business objectives.
Track sales performance against customer budgets, identifying significant variances on a monthly and quarterly basis, and take corrective action as needed.
Monitor customer order patterns to proactively address potential drop-offs or issues before they arise.
Conduct customer visits at least three days per week as part of KPIs, ensuring appropriate visit frequency to build strong relationships, reinforce brand loyalty, monitor competitors, and uncover growth opportunities through new product listings and end-user development.
Maintain effective communication with customers, especially regarding sales performance against any agreed-upon overrides.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to enhance end-user awareness via customer websites and social media, creating strong product demand.
Document all customer visits with detailed meeting reports, ensuring all agreed action points are executed in full and on time.
Stay informed about customer credit limits and account statuses through Credit Control, taking personal responsibility to avoid unnecessary debt or risk exposure.
Participate in weekly Friday Sales meetings to review results and outline plans for the coming week.
Support Customer Service when required, including processing orders, tele-sales initiatives, and general customer service tasks.
Actively use the CRM system (Hubspot) to maintain up-to-date customer information and activities, completing all tasks within agreed timelines, including sales leads and product inquiries.
Collaborate with customers' sales and telesales teams to enhance product knowledge and foster loyalty toward Meadowvale products.
Conduct product demonstrations (“cook-ups”) for senior customer teams to showcase the quality, taste, and texture of Meadowvale offerings.
Assist the Marketing team with trade shows and other relevant activities when needed.
Be prepared for occasional overnight stays.
