About the role
Main Duties:
1. You will have ownership of Purchase Ledger, acting as the finance point of contact for internal and external related queries.
2. Ensure supplier invoices sent to the inbox are transferred to Lightyear for approval and the information presented accurately.
3. Maintain the PO structure in Lightyear and ensure POs are correctly matched to invoices.
4. Accurately collate the payment runs at the end of each month, including running and reconciling the monthly payment report to the accounting system.
5. Ensure all invoices have the correct level of manager approval and receive director authorisation before uploading payments to the bank.
6. Maintain tidy supplier accounts in Microsoft Dynamics.
7. Set up new supplier accounts and perform Experian credit checks where appropriate along with supplier statement reconciliations.
8. Reconcile Corporate credit cards, check receipts and post onto Navision, along with processing expenses.
9. Support the finance team during the annual audit process and assist the Assistant Group Financial Controller with any ad-hoc duties as required.
10. Take on various other accounting responsibilities such as bank reconciliations, updating the weekly cash flow actuals, liaising with internal departments on general queries, and supporting the month-end close process.

Ideal previous experience:
1. Excellent communication skills, with the confidence and credibility to build trusted relationships across the business.
2. Proven outstanding organisational and prioritisation skills to deliver to strict reporting deadlines.
3. Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities, as well as collaborate and work as a team.
4. Analytical mindset with close attention to detail, innovative and willing to impact change for the better.
5. Previous experience with purchase ledger, general bookkeeping knowledge, and good IT skills.
6. Experience of Microsoft Dynamics and Lightyear is preferable but not essential.
