* Flexible work options - work smarter in a way that suits your lifestyle.
* Work with some of Australia’s most iconic private business and property developers
About the Role
Our Private Business Tax team is expanding and we’re looking for Senior Associates, Managers, and Senior Managers to join our vast community of solvers. The Private Business Tax team brings our purpose to life by specializing in providing comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to privately-owned businesses, including family enterprises, partnerships, and privately-held companies. Our expertise spans a wide range of tax-related areas such as tax planning and strategy, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganization. We work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and objectives, ensuring they meet all regulatory requirements while optimizing their tax positions.
Privately-owned businesses and wealthy individuals commonly seek to invest in property and infrastructure development, with the property sector currently accounting for nearly a quarter of Australia’s GDP. This role will include working with some of the largest property developers in the country, providing you with the opportunity to engage deeply with high-profile clients and make a significant impact in the sector and wider community.
As a Senior Associate, you'll take on more responsibility by managing relationships and leading smaller projects. You'll have the opportunity to mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of innovative tax solutions tailored to our clients.
You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:
* Developing and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of private business clients, understanding their unique tax needs and providing tailored advice.
* Ensuring clients meet their tax obligations by preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current regulations.
* Advising clients on tax-efficient strategies to optimize their tax positions, including succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganization.
* Staying updated with the latest tax laws and regulations, conducting in-depth research to provide clients with informed guidance.
* Mentoring and supporting junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
* Identifying potential tax risks and developing strategies to mitigate them, protecting clients' interests.
* Providing updates to clients on tax-related issues, helping them stay informed about changes in tax legislation.
* Advising high net wealth individuals/families, businesses, and their owners on tax technical topics such as revenue/capital distinction, structuring of financing arrangements, Division 7A, and trusts.
* Providing tax compliance, tax planning, and tax advisory services for large client groups with multiple types of entities including trusts, companies, partnerships, and individuals.
In our Private Business Tax team, your impact will be seen by:
* Driving client growth by delivering exceptional service and identifying opportunities for additional services and solutions.
* Innovating and streamlining tax processes within the team, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
* Working closely with other departments (e.g., audit, advisory) to provide holistic solutions to clients.
* Helping expand the firm's market presence by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
* Continuously developing your expertise and credentials, contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence.
