What will you be doing as our new Infrastructure Engineer? As our new Infrastructure Engineer, you ll provide civil and pipeline engineering technical review and inputs to both clean water and water recycling infrastructure projects. The Infrastructure Engineer will provide guidance, technical reviews and design support for numerous infrastructure schemes and will ensure all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards. You will also look to develop innovative methods or processes where applicable. They will encourage developing engineers to identify potential designs (both innovative or existing) that can be used as a standard product to promote self-learning and design appreciation; and to be used by the wider business to promote efficiency across the business and highlight the significant benefits of collaboration. Key responsibilities: Checking of drawings to ensure one quality, safety, and technical standards. Good understanding of pipe materials and applications. Good understanding of construction team interface and coordination. Design of sewerage systems, trunk water mains & pressurised and gravity sewerage systems. General civils and hydraulic design experience including pumpstations, slabs, pipe protection, piling, RC design, open channel/pipe hydraulics. Actively seeking innovative technology and processes. provide support for engineers to establish Standard Product drawings and procedures (for the wider use of the business). To give one to one or team technical guidance and assistance, to engineers when required understand and implement the hierarchy in risk management in design and be familiar with design. Maintain portfolio awareness in technical areas. A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours. To join our Engineering team in our quest to remain an industry- leading alliance by pushing boundaries of innovation, you ll ideally hold a BEng or MEng/MSc Degree in Civil engineering. You ll possess good knowledge and experience of undertaking calculations for pipeline designs and the ancillaries to a network (e.g. thrust blocks). You will also be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of enabling activities and construction techniques. With demonstrable experience in undertaking design of various civil engineering structures within the Water industry, you ll be confident in optimising the use of digital platforms to bring innovative ideas to life. Possessing strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills to complement your proficiency in IT packages, you ll relish solving complex engineering challenges and bring innovative ideas to the table to continuously improve our processes. Understanding the importance of stakeholder engagement, you ll present new ideas underpinned by your expertise and solid data analysis and reports as you bring others along with change.
