The Centre for Population Health Sciences at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for an exceptional candidate to lead an internationally competitive research programme in primary care and related areas in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. The post holder will play an important role building the profile of general practice at Edinburgh, through close engagement with undergraduate students and GP trainees.

Your skills and attributes for success:
• A medical degree, a qualification in General Practice/Family Medicine (MRCGP or equivalent) and a higher degree (PhD, MD or equivalent)
• An outstanding track record of research in both reputation and publications.
• The ability to attract substantial research funding from competitive sources such as UKRI, NIHR, Wellcome Trust, research charities and global funders.
• A commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate learning and teaching in a research-intensive context;
• Leadership and managerial skills particularly in multi-disciplinary contexts.
• Ability to work as part of a senior academic team and to engage in high-level research and strategic planning.
