Group Environmental & Sustainability Manager
Our client, a leading housing association, is seeking an experienced Group Environmental & Sustainability Manager to join their Asset Strategy Team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is based in the North-West, offering a competitive salary along with excellent benefits.
Role Overview
In this pivotal position, you will act as the sustainability and environmental champion for the group, driving forward their environmental and sustainability strategy. You will lead on the implementation, periodic review, and embedding of change across the organisation, ensuring key environmental targets are met, including achieving net-zero carbon by 2050.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and oversee an ambitious decarbonisation programme, including grant-funded initiatives such as the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund
* Manage the grant application process, procurement, contract delivery, and budgets for a £10 million, 3-year programme of decarbonization works across the organisation's housing stock.
* Gather and analyze data from various sources to drive decision-making and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to embed sustainability practices throughout the organization.
What You’ll Bring
* Knowledge of environmental and carbon legislation, with an understanding of the broader climate change agenda.
* Experience in delivering decarbonization and energy efficiency projects, ideally within the housing or social housing sectors.
* Data skills, with the ability to collect, analyse, and present data to stakeholders and team members.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, ensuring seamless collaboration with peers, customers, and external partners.
* A passion for sustainability and delivering excellent services.
Additional Requirements
* Strong leadership and project management skills.
* Demonstrable experience in budget and contract management.
