Experienced Painter & Decorators required for immediate start - BEDFORD & SURROUNDING AREAS
Job Overview
You will be employed as a Painter & Decorator.
Main Duties
1. To carry out internal and external painting and decorating requirements as instructed by management.
2. To carry out preparation works to walls to make good ready for decoration.
3. Minor repairs to surfaces and structures prior to decorating/painting.
4. Undertake minor repair works.
5. To use all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works.
6. Erecting of access equipment as required, with appropriate training and competency.
7. Erection of all necessary access plant and temporary screening as and when required to protect the environment and people, all in accordance with current Health & Safety guidance.
8. Monitor decorating material stock and request new stock as required.
9. To undertake work in relation to all aspects of painting/decorating as required.
Client / Customer
1. Respond in a timely manner to verbal, written and reactive tasks.
2. Carry out all painting and decorating to a high standard.
3. Provide support and input into projects as required.
4. Notify your line manager of any complaints/discrepancies.
Operations
1. Ensure all works are carried out within the approved budget.
2. Ensure all painting and decorating equipment is best utilised and kept clean and reused where practical to avoid any unnecessary wastage.
3. Ensure Time Sheets are completed correctly and are returned in a timely manner.
4. Implement and follow local procedures as and when they are issued.
5. Liaising with site management and key personnel on building related issues.
What We Are Looking For
1. A full driving licence is preferred.
2. Must hold a recognised qualification or have a minimum of 10 years checkable experience in Painting.
3. Preferable have served a recognised apprenticeship.
4. Organised and able to meet deadlines.
5. Must be self-motivated and be a team player.
6. Conversant with relevant legislation and compliance issues.
7. Good knowledge of all aspects of Health and Safety.
8. Should have a “Can Do” approach and portray a positive attitude.
9. Must have good customer service skills.
10. Is capable of carrying out all duties associated with carrying out the role of painter/decorator.
