Job Purpose
The management of project teams including design and supply chain to ensure safe and quality delivery of projects on time and within budget to client’s satisfaction.
Pre-contract Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible For
* Input into the preparation of estimates and tenders following appropriate site visits
* Reviewing tenders with operations team as necessary
* Participating in tender adjudication meetings where applicable.
* Planning and programming of work
* Understand and develop V.E opportunities (both pre and post-contract)
* Participating in preparation of necessary documents for inclusion on tender submissions, including site visits where applicable
* Attendance at post tender interviews
Post Contract Responsibilities
* Adhering to Safety First Guiding Principles
* Ensuring each contract is properly planned and programmed.
* Ensuring production and commercial procedures are implemented across all projects.
* Preparation of contract budget in conjunction with profit centre surveyor and monitoring of performance and acting when necessary to improve and meet MEP.
* Implementation of all Company safety, health, environmental and quality procedures ensuring statutory compliance across all projects.
* Develop contract programme with Site Manager, ensuring necessary resources are in place and establishing sequence and timing of operations for the completion of the work
* Ensuring all relevant information is collated, reviewed and actioned at regular contract review meetings. Attending client/consultant meetings, preparing and responding to the requirements of the meeting.
* Ensuring delays are properly recorded under the contract to ensure contractual entitlement.
* Be part of the procurement and placing of sub-contractor and supplier orders in accordance with the programme.
* Understand and manage project contract and amendments
* Recruitment and management of site personnel in line with Company HR policies and procedures.
* Champion quality standards on all contracts via culture of continuous improvement.
* Leading any necessary investigations following non-conformance of quality or health and safety
* Ensure disciplines are in place for management of labour, sub-contractor, materials and plant costs on all projects
* Attendance at and chairing as appropriate and necessary, Contract Review Meeting
* Ensure delays are properly recorded under the contract to protect company position and ensure contractual entitlement
* Form and maintain professional relationships with Client, Project and Design teams and Supply Chain
* Handover of all necessary documents and activities in place for an on time and orderly handover of projects
* Manage soft landing process
Qualifications And Experience
* High level of ability and advanced knowledge of construction methods and technologies
* Commercial strategy and innovation to maximize profit delivery
* Knowledge and understanding of subcontract/material orders and procurement
* Knowledge of health and safety, quality procedures and construction industry WRA.
People Responsibilities
* Responsible for all aspects of the employee relationship including the annual and interim performance reviews
* Ensure new employees complete their on-boarding programme
* Management of training and development to ensure staff are kept up to date with current legislation and training needs
