Role: - Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Specialist – contract role

Location: - Remote or hybrid working, with ability to travel into our Lily’s Kitchen central London office (Goodge Street) when required.

Your role at Lily’s Kitchen:
You will be part of a team that are at the forefront of innovation, reporting into the Head of Product. As an Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Consultant, you will ensure the delivery of compliant labelling and brand / product related communications (e.g. e-commerce, social web), enabling projects success through effective collaboration and guidance to the product, marketing and e-commerce teams, defending NPP EMENA position and strategy through Pet food associations (relevant pet food trade associations).
How will I make a difference?
You will: -
1. Support the Lilt’s Kitchen Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Specialist in the day to day role
2. Have responsibility for working directly with the marketing team to review and approve off pack compliance
3. Ensure any claims are substantiated, regulatory compliant and all labels meet EU Regulations, industry codes.
4. All substantiation must be collated, checked and filed correctly before approval.
5. Sign off packaging artworks through LK proofing system, including any languages using the approved copy sheets on behalf of Lily’s Kitchen before releasing for print
6. Support with Purina RSA communications when required
7. Create a claims tool kit for all off pack claims which will then be translated for use across markets
8. Be the Lily’s Kitchen representative for local trade bodies (to be determined) e.g., UK Pet Food
Knowledge
1. Know and able to find the key Regulatory texts (labelling, animal by products, additives, feed hygiene, etc..) and FEDIAF codes (labelling, safety, nutritional guidelines)
2. Able to explain to others on core regulatory information
3. Ensure any changes / updates to regulation is reported back to the Lily’s Kitchen team
4. When the above refers to changes to the product or packaging, work with the NPD team on a process to implement the changes within the required time frame
How will I be successful?
1. Experience in reviewing and approving product claims for both on pack or off pack communications
2. You’ll have a wealth of knowledge in regulatory compliance, EU Regulations, industry codes/guidelines (labelling, animal by products, additives, feed hygiene, etc..) and FEDIAF codes (labelling, safety, nutritional guidelines)
3. Fantastic planning, organisation skills and detail oriented
4. Employ a risk-based approach to assess and validate product claims, while collaboratively finding alternative commercial solutions when required.
5. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and pressure and organised at all times with the ability to hit the ground running.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
