This is an exciting opportunity to join us in Middlesbrough as we create our first dedicated Adult LADO role in response to increasing activity.
As the LADO, you will take the lead on managing concerns raised about People in a Position of Trust (PIPoT). This will involve receiving incoming referrals, gathering relevant information, and chairing LADO panels. You will have the opportunity to develop the role, combining the management of concerns with training, support, and awareness raising. You will also be responsible for the monitoring and review of our LADO policy.
The post holder will have additional responsibilities to support the wider adult safeguarding work and represent the local authority in Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) meetings and, on occasions, chair adult safeguarding meetings.
You will find that Middlesbrough Council offers superb training and development opportunities via our online training portal and through our workforce development lead. We are committed to supporting our staff and providing a healthy work culture. Staff have access to regular supervisions as well as other staff support forums.
You will have the opportunity to work from home as well as a base at the newly renovated Council building, Fountain Court. New staff joining Middlesbrough Council can expect a warm welcome from the team, with the opportunity to work collaboratively with other adult social care teams within the office setting.
At Middlesbrough, we truly live our values and incorporate them into everything we do. We are passionate about improving the lives of our residents, focused on achieving the best outcomes, and creative in the way we work with customers, ensuring they get the best support available. If you are a qualified social worker with the skills and drive to help safeguard adults, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
