ACS Junior Camera Technician About the role A brief summary ACS, an EMG/Gravity company, is widely recognised as a world leader in the provision of specialist camera systems as well as aerial filming in the UK and around the world. We are seeking candidates for the position of a Junior Camera Technician to join our team working in our SMARThead ™ Department based out of Redhill, but there will be requirement for countrywide travel. Exclusive to ACS, the SMARThead™ is a highly versatile compact remote head created to provide a comprehensive solution for high end robotic camera applications, designed and developed by ACS’ in-house engineering team. This role is for you if We require someone to assist with the day-to-day tasks within our SMARThead ™ Department with a key focus on base preps and equipment organisation. This role is suited to someone who is starting out in the industry and is keen to pursue a career in a technical broadcast role. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate. Experience in a previous broadcast role or work experience in broadcast or a similar discipline is preferred but not essential. Education in a media, broadcast or technical course would be advantageous but is not essential. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Keen interest in technical aspects of TV production. Confident and proactive under pressure Ability to prioritise effectively. Keen attention to detail. Able and willing to travel around the UK as well as abroad. Prepared to undertake weekend and evening work where required working on live sporting and entertainment events. Must be able to easily commute to our Redhill office, free base parking available. Although this role will predominantly involve base work out of our Redhill office, the candidate must be prepared to work out of any EMG UK base or onsite when required. A full UK Driver’s license is an essential requirement for the role, the applicant must be prepared to drive larger vans (e.g. Ford Transits) in time. Prior experience of this will be advantageous. What you’ll be responsible for The Junior Camera Technician will be responsible for: The preparation of specialist robotic camera equipment. Producing equipment kit out lists. Checking kit in upon its return to base. The organisation of equipment. Performing basic maintenance tasks of specialist equipment and remote heads. Assisting the ACS in-house engineering team with the assembly of new equipment. Carry out ad-hoc driving jobs as required – delivering/collecting equipment to/from suppliers, clients and other EMG UK bases. With experience, take SMARThead ™ equipment out on site both within the UK and abroad.
