Successful candidates will be based out of our Rutherford House (Whitehaven) office & client site delivering high hazard decommissioning working as part of a multi-discipline team. Responsibilities for the role will be focused around those detailed below, there will be an expectation to support other team members outside this specific discipline where the need arises. There will also be potential opportunity for national and international travel for the right candidates.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Provide advice and guidance on segregating, packaging, labelling storage, & disposal of waste.
* Ability to co-ordinate multiple resources to facilitate disposal.
* Provide advice and guidance of isotopic fingerprints & waste stream characterisation documents.
* Liaise with Waste Advisor and other stakeholders.
* Act promptly on non-compliance issues/participate in investigations where required.
* Coach and mentor junior members of the team, including graduates and apprentices.
* Responsible for the safe delivery of specified site-based work packages.
* Responsible for the management of project wastes in line with Waste Management Plans.
Requirements:
* Nuclear Decommissioning/Waste Management Experience.
* Highly motivated, proactive, and flexible in approach, must be willing to travel to work on client sites as required.
* You should have a good understanding of the waste hierarchy and an awareness of waste routing and acceptance criteria / conditions for acceptance for these routes.
* Interpersonal skills, able to build and develop relationships internally and externally.
* Ability to reach SQEP status.
