We now employ over 100 employees in our 87,000 square foot facility, ensuring we have the resources to deliver exceptional results on every project Due to continued growth we are seeking a highly motivated Apprentice - Fabrication Role Profile: Under the supervision and support of the Fabrication Manager the Apprentice is required to produce accurate and cost effective products in line with the client’s information through the use of MIG, TIG and sheet metal machinery. The postholder will work towards an NVQ in Sheet Metal Fabrication and will attend Leicester College one day per week. Key Responsibilities Read engineers drawings and interpret all symbols and information Inspect parts to check they are correct and free from damage before proceeding with any processe Tack weld and then carry out a cross reference drawing check To accurately record times on Oseon Always look for the most cost effective way of doing any procedures When handling materials ensure absolute minimum damage to all faces especially with stainless steel (polished/grained) and anodised finished surfaces Keep the welding bay compact and free from trip hazards. Remove any unnecessary items including fire hazards Be mindful of your colleagues when operating machinery, forklift, grinders, crane etc Inspect electrical leads, airlines and maintain weld plants Complete all paperwork (job pack) correctly and feedback any relevant information that will increase productivity or reduce future errors Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes A minimum of English and Maths at Grade 4 or above Good communication skills, (both verbal and written) Excellent IT skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good attitude, with a willingness to learn new skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities Excellent attention to detail This position requires 100% on site presence. The post holder will be required to attend Leicester College one day every week, whereby they will be working towards a 4 year Level 3 Apprenticeship in sheet metal fabrication.
