About the Team
Join our dedicated Arborist teams and be a part of a team dedicated to maintaining the tree stock across the county. We are looking for a skilled Arboricultural Groundsman to carry out a variety of arboriculture and some forestry projects for both internal and external clients.
Role Purpose
As an Arboricultural Groundsman, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tree care tasks to a high standard, ensuring the health and safety of our trees and the public. Your work will include felling and pruning among other duties. Working within the Highway, on county school sites, parks, nature reserves and some private property. Based in Henley in Arden with daily travel to work sites across the whole county.
Key Requirements
* Perform a full range of arboricultural tasks to a high standard, adhering to BS3998:2010 Recommendations for Tree Works.
* Carry out tree felling, pruning, and planting using arb-specific hand tools and equipment.
* Drive and operate large tractors including towing of large forestry and agricultural trailers.
* Operate and maintain a variety of machinery, including brushwood chippers, stump grinders, 360 excavator, forestry winches and skid steers.
* Assist in ground-based rigging operations.
* Work with other contractors e.g. crane operators for the safe removal and/or positioning of large timber.
* Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety regulations and respond effectively to dynamic tree work situations.
* Maintain and update records related to equipment and operations.
* Chapter 8 Lighting, Signing and Guarding to make safe work zone.
* Regular outdoor work, including working at heights and in various weather conditions.
* Manual handling and use of vibrating tools/machinery.
* Compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.

Additional Information
The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
