You will have your own caseload and will use your clinical decision making tools to screen referrals, followed by planning assessments and treatments to support discharge of patients under the supervision of a senior therapist.
You will work across OT and Physio professions within the HCOP team as a generic therapist.
This will involve promoting wellbeing, safety and independence within essential activities of daily living, by providing advice and treatment to the patient and/or their careers.
You will also be responsible for the assessment and provision of a range of equipment to promote independence and will be able to refer onto appropriate services following discharge.
You will have excellent communication skills and will be required to work closely with the MDT to discuss caseload management.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and conscientious team player with the ability to use their initiative, work flexibly and be self -motivated, who can demonstrate excellent communication skills.
You must have a NVQ /QCF Level 3 in healthcare or an equivalent GCSE grades A-C or equivalent in Maths and English. You must also have experience of working in therapies within a care setting at a band 3 level or equivalent.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Physiotherapy Health Care of Older People (HCOP) team on a full time secondment contract - 37. 5hours week
The core hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm. The successful applicant will also be required to work on a rota system to cover weekends and bank holidays.
There is the expectation to work cross campus as we have HCOP beds on both city and QMC campus.
