We have multiple opportunities for Medical Underwriters to join our team! As part of the Royal London Underwriting team, you will be responsible for ensuring our customers consistently receive accurate and fair underwriting decisions with market leading customer service from the most helpful and trusted customer service teams in the industry.
The Medical Underwriting team look after our customers at the start of their journey ensuring their policy is correctly set up, this means that in their time of need when they are most vulnerable, they have the assurance that they have all they need to make a claim.
We are looking for people who are customer focused, compassionate, good communicators and open to a continued culture of learning and change. You will have a strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset and trust your decision-making abilities, while working collaboratively to share knowledge with your peer group sharing best practice and get cases on risk ensuring we are making the best decisions for our customers.
About the role
1. Manage and own a case pipeline from application to offer, making accurate decisions whilst balancing cost & risk that drives on improving customer outcomes and experience.
2. To support the Group Customer Service strategy in ensuring robust and accurate medical Underwriting decisions are appropriate to the commercial risk and within personal Underwriting authority levels.
3. Effective customer service delivered within the consumer duty framework.
4. Act as a technical point of reference, providing medical underwriting guidance both internally and externally.
About you
5. A proven track record of medical underwriting skills to include critical illness, Death, and Income Protection within the UK market.
6. Sound knowledge and experience of the Protection Market.
7. Ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information.
8. Sound understanding of medical terminology and the ability to interpret medical information.
9. Strong communication skill, both written and verbal.
10. Highly analytical mindset.
