We are recruiting for a Volunteer Coordinator to develop our Adult Mentoring programme. This is a newly created role and the post-holder will coordinate and oversee the effective delivery of a community-based adult mentoring service for people we support within Right There programmes.
The Volunteer Coordinator will have responsibility for engagement, recruitment, training and day-to-day supervision of volunteer mentors and the ongoing support of mentee and mentor matches and liaison.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
* Volunteer Management including recruitment, training and regular support and reflection with volunteer mentors
* Confidently manage and coordinate positive, respectful and compassionate relationships between mentor and mentee, ensuring good boundaries
* Build upon existing relationships with Social Work, Third Sector and other professionals and strengthening these relationships
* Liaise with referral sources regarding new and existing mentoring referrals
* Attend multi-agency meetings as required advocating on behalf of the people we support
* Ensure that adequate safeguarding measures are in place for both mentors and mentees and participation in on-call rota system as required
* Contribute towards the design, development delivery and evaluation of our programmes, ensuring we are adopting a co-produced approach where possible
* Ensure accurate and factual record keeping at all times by ensuring support plans are completed and updated in accordance with GDPR and confidentiality processes
* Ensure risk assessments are updated for the people we support

We’re looking for a skilled leader who has gained experience of volunteer and/or staff management, you will also have practical knowledge of adult safeguarding practices and trauma informed approaches. You will have gained experience of supporting adults with complex needs who have faced homelessness and you will also have knowledge of relevant legislation and policies relating to vulnerable adults.
A full driving license and access to a car for work purposes is an essential requirement together with insurance that covers both domestic and business use.
What you can expect from us
* Your normal working hours are 35 per week worked Monday to Friday and flexibly between the hours of 8am and 6pm depending on the needs of the service, with 1-hour unpaid break. Weekend and evening work will be required occasionally to meet the needs of people we support.
* Your usual place of work is 15 Dava Street, Glasgow, G51 2JA. You are also required to work in the local community and you will be paid travel expenses from your usual place of work for appointments undertaken in the course of your duties. Home working is available in agreement with the line manager, based on the needs of the service.
* Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second.
* You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension in the month that you will complete 3-months of employment, provided you meet the auto-enrolment criteria
