This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cardiology nurse to join the Structural Heart Valve Disease team (SHVD). The job holder will support the SHVD team to care for patients via the percutaneous programme, which includes Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implant (TAVI), TEER, and Tendyne as part of national, Trust, and division structure. They will work with divisions to develop and deliver excellent patient care that aligns with workforce priorities and brings added value to our staff. The role will focus on specific TAVI and TEER led patient care and staff training priorities, with an expectation to deliver cross Trust or other clinical sites training initiatives. The post holder will actively maintain patient pathway care from referral to inpatient and outpatient care, working hours between Monday to Friday with flexibility in how the hours are achieved.
Main duties of the job
1. Act as clinical expert providing specialist knowledge and advice to nurses and clinical teams/staff within Division and Trust.
2. Follow service users through both elective and non-elective pathways, conducting inpatient reviews on CICU/CCU/Catheter Laboratory and cardiac wards autonomously and with cardiac consultants.
3. Triaging patients into the service, conducting MDTs, pre-assessment, and post TAVI/TEER follow-up, all clearly documented to facilitate a synchronized care pathway.
4. Communicate with professional leads for nursing, midwifery, AHP, and other staff across the Trust, including senior clinical staff.
5. Embed evidence-based practice and methods of education that promote inclusivity and diversity.
6. Dynamically support the SHVD team response to new service development demands.
7. Demonstrate transformational and inspirational leadership with responsibility for supervising, leading, and managing the TAVI pathway and staff.
8. Develop high-quality learning objectives for clinical practice development teaching sessions and internal programmes.
9. Use analytical and judgment skills necessary to support delivery of high-quality education.

Knowledge and Experience
* Current/recent acute cardiology knowledge
* Recent experience of practice development and teaching
* Clinical, organisational and management experience
* Recent experience of service development and implementation of change
* Recent evidence of working on Trust or divisional wide projects/initiatives
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and willingness to develop technological skills further
Qualifications and Training
* Registered Nurse level 1 (Adult) with current NMC registration
* 1st Degree in Nursing
* Qualification in Teaching, Assessing and Mentoring
* Evidence of Masters level academic study or willingness to work towards Masters in a relevant health-related subject
* Non-medical Prescribing or willingness to work towards
