Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for providing medical services to the practice population, delivering excellent clinical care while complying with the GMS contract.
The post holder will adhere to GMC standards for good medical practice, contribute to effective practice management, lead by example, and maintain positive, collaborative relationships within the multidisciplinary team.

The doctors are supported by excellent nursing and administrative teams. We are actively involved in our Primary Care Network, with a GP Partner serving as Clinical Director. Within the PCN, we have a team including Paramedic, Pharmacist, First Contact Physiotherapist, Mental Health Practitioner, and Social Prescriber.
Job responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the Salaried GP include:
* Delivering effective medical care to the practice population
* Providing services in line with the GMS contract
* Adhering to guidelines for prescribing and managing long-term conditions
* Processing administrative tasks such as referrals and prescriptions promptly
* Participating in telephone triage and duty doctor roles on a rotational basis
* Maintaining accurate clinical records
* Collaborating with colleagues to share workload
* Following clinical guidelines and participating in audits
* Contributing to practice improvement initiatives
* Taking responsibility for specific areas or QOF domains
* Attending and contributing to practice meetings
* Supporting clinical governance and training
* Ensuring compliance with appraisal and revalidation processes
* Promoting continuous professional development
* Supporting medical student training
* Assisting in strategic practice goals, including income enhancement and expenditure reduction
* Reviewing and adhering to practice protocols
* Encouraging collaborative working and continuous improvement culture
Additional duties may include:
* Participating in practice audits
* Engaging in initiatives to improve service delivery
* Reviewing significant and near-miss events using structured approaches like root cause analysis
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience working in primary care
* Experience with professional development and clinical audits
* Experience with QOF and ICB initiatives
* Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
* Experience in medicines management
Qualifications
* Qualified GP with GMC registration
* Registered on the National Performers List
* Eligible to practice independently in the UK
