LOCAL/NON LOCAL Machinists
Location: Barrow in Furness
Duration: 12 Months
Rates: £19.40-£40.00+
Please note whilst we expect the roles to be operating on a Night Shift Pattern, there could be flexibility for other shift patterns, but night shifts takes priority.
Core Duties
The role holder:
1. Work safely at all times, complying with Health and Safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines.
2. Follow the relevant instructions, drawings and any other specifications.
3. Use the appropriate methods and techniques to machine components.
4. Check the completed activity to ensure that all operations have been completed to meet the required specification.
5. Use associated tools and equipment safely and effectively.

1. Reading / understanding technical drawings.
2. Use of measuring equipment.
3. Understanding unit of measurements (metric & imperial).

5. Identifying correct tooling.
6. Proficient use of Fanuc, Hiedenhain, and Seimens programming packages.
7. Use of CAD / CAM applications.
8. Use of hand tools.
9. Prepare raw materials for machine use.
10. Load material onto machine.
11. Check / maintain machinery for functionality.
12. Waste management.
13. Manual handling.
14. Knowledge of checks, adaptors, bushes, etc.
15. Material holding arrangements.
16. Marking off.
17. Awareness of Dreadnought cleanliness and material segregation requirements.
18. Experience with various lathes, mills, and machining centres.
Qualifications
1. Served and Approved Apprenticeship (In relevant trade).
2. NVQ Level 3 Equivalent Qualification (In relevant subject).
