Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum
About Our Client
They are a Bristol based food and catering wholesale company, currently seeking a full time, permanent Field Sales Manager to join their busy Sales team to increase sales, customer retention, and customer service as well as ensuring consistent staff performance, staff development, and training. They are one of the longest established independent food service wholesalers in the South West, supplying a full range of frozen, chilled, and ambient foods along with an extensive range of catering products.
About The Position
* Managing the Field Sales team
* Building and delivering on a New Business pipeline
* Presenting data and delivering sales pitches
* Overcoming obstacles and barriers to achieve business objectives
* Developing and motivating a high performing sales team
* Supporting the Field Sales team with training needs and in identifying and realizing opportunities within their customer base
* Overseeing and monitoring the activities and performance of the Field Sales team
* Ensuring effective induction training is maintained and company standards are adhered to
* Being an active member of the Management team, attending meetings and assisting the Commercial Sales Director and Managing Director with duties as required
* Managing the competency development of all sales staff in terms of skill gap analysis and training identification
* Responsible for working with the Commercial Sales Director and Field Sales Team to deliver sales performance, which includes daily, monthly, and annual targets
* Investigating lost sales and customer accounts
* Delivering induction and training to new starters and supporting them through their probation period
* Identifying opportunities to gain additional business in key accounts and gain new key contracts
* Working with the Commercial Sales Director to set, implement, and achieve the overall vision and goals of the company
Skills & Attributes
Although applicants with previous sales experience in the food industry are preferable, the company will also consider applications from individuals with sales experience in different sectors as product training will be provided.
The Field Sales Manager will be expected to have the following skills and attributes:
* A Full UK Driving licence is essential for this role.
* Previous background in sales is essential.
* Target driven with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
* Confident character with excellent customer service, networking, and communication skills; able to deal with difficult clients and remain calm under pressure.
* A high degree of self-motivation and ambition with the skills to motivate others.
* Exceptional attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
* A friendly and approachable demeanour, strong interpersonal skills with an enthusiastic and flexible approach.
* People management skills within a Sales Team.
* Able to provide feedback and coaching to team members.
* Proven ability to build relationships with all levels of the business, demonstrating strong influencing, communication, and negotiation skills.
