WHAT TO EXPECT You will act as the Product Owner for Powertrain Test Delivery, working within Powertrain Build and Test Operations in JLR’s Engineering Operations department. Our mission is to accurately plan and ensure the timely delivery of prototype powertrain systems into our world-class test facilities, supporting Powertrain and Product Engineering in achieving the test data required for a high-quality product release. As the Manager of the Powertrain Test Planning team, you will lead a team of people responsible for planning tests in the physical test environment for some of our fantastic Powertrain commodities, including Engines, Batteries, Electric Drive Units and full Powertrain systems / Powerpacks. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities • Test Planning - Documenting test requirements in order to define facility requirements and calculate budgets. Sourcing test partners to successfully sign off powertrain components and developing deliverable test plans in conjunction with key stakeholders • Test Delivery - Ensuring the projects are delivered to our operational teams in a timely way, adhering to our test delivery process. Monitor and report project progress and address any issues or obstacles that may arise • The implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures to streamline operations, enhance productivity and support successful IMS audits • Leading a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, enabling them to focus on technical excellence and customer satisfaction • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders and collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful project delivery WHAT YOU’LL NEED • Experience of component and system testing or design verification, ideally in the automotive sector or transferable engineering disciplines • Ability to deliver projects accurately, evaluate and report on project progress and effectively manage risks • Strong leadership skills, including team development in complex technical environments with evidence of creating and sustaining a positive and effective team working environment • In depth experience of the planning and coordination of team activities to achieve objectives combined with a collaborative mindset to foster teamwork across departments and manage change effectively • Experience with championing process standardisation and adherence to quality standards, ideally combined with a working knowledge of IMS standards (ISO17025, ISO9001, IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001) or expertise in managing compliance and contributing to successful audit outcomes A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.
