About the area The division of Student Wellbeing and Engagement facilitates a high-quality student experience through the provision of integrated and comprehensive services. The division is responsible for the delivery of the UWA Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework and the UWA Safe, Respectful and Inclusive Communities Framework. Student Wellbeing and Engagement has five broad areas - tertiary prevention through the Complex Case Management team; early intervention, cohort initiatives and timely access to low barrier services through the Student Wellbeing team; counselling through the Psychology team; Grand Challenges and the provision of a contemporary onboarding experience through the Student Engagement team; and primary prevention programs and clinical response to gender-based violence through the Safe and Respectful Communities team. About the opportunity You will be responsible for developing, delivering and coordinating relevant training and complementary education initiatives for students and staff in student-facing roles. contribute to the University’s strategic objectives through delivery of the UWA Safe, Respectful and Inclusive Communities Framework, participation in decision-making, establishing performance measures and monitoring and evaluating the delivery of initiatives and related projects. You will have a significant role in the direction of safer community practices ensuring a coordinated University response by working with other relevant teams within Student Life and across other university divisions, as appropriate. About you Contribute to the development of safe and respectful communities reporting, procedures and processes. Provide expert and authoritative advice on best practice, evidence-based initiatives relating to disclosures and prevention of gender-based violence (i.e.: sexual assault, sexual harassment and intimate partner and family and domestic violence). Provide advice in relation to safer communities matters and policy/procedure adjustments. Identify, communicate, measure, mitigate and report on risks to students within UWA frameworks and guidelines. Continue to develop, implement and evaluate training and awareness raising programs for students and staff.
