As a studio assistant at our Sewing Camp this upcoming half term, you will have the exciting opportunity to engage with children while they learn valuable skills in hand sewing and machine sewing. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about empowering young minds, fostering creativity, and making a positive impact on children's lives. Volunteers will work closely with camp organisers to design engaging sewing projects suitable for various age groups and skill levels, ensuring a fun and educational experience for all participants.Responsibilities:1. Develop and prep age-appropriate sewing curriculum and lesson plans.2. Teach basic sewing techniques such as threading a needle, tying knots, and using a sewing machine.3. Demonstrate safety practices and proper handling of sewing tools and equipment.4. Guide children through hands-on sewing projects, providing assistance and encouragement as needed.5. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where children feel empowered to express their creativity.6. Promote teamwork and collaboration among campers during sewing activities.7. Maintain a clean and organized sewing area, ensuring the safety of all participants.8. Communicate effectively with camp staff, parents, and campers regarding program updates, progress, and any concerns.Qualifications:1. Proficiency in both hand sewing and machine sewing techniques is preferred, but not required.2. Experience working with children in a teaching or mentoring capacity is preferred but not required.3.
