Job summary The successful candidate will be autonomous practitioner, taking responsibility for the provision of care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods for women and babies in the hospital/community setting. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of care to both high and low risk women in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, also supporting the team/ward in the effective management of the clinical area. You will support, supervise and teach staff/students evidence based client centred care, which is of a high standard, being responsible for ensuring that all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures and maintaining associated records of care. We have a robust preceptorship package in place for newly qualified midwives and a dedicated Practice Development Midwife. Main duties of the job The midwifery teams at WUTH provide care to approximately 3200 women and their families in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, both low and high-risk women. Encompassed within the unit is a Level 3 Unit for Neonatal Services, Children's Services and Women's Unit.
