Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Operations Manager on the night shift to join us on a 9 month fixed term contract basis. You’ll be working Sunday to Thursday, 22:00 – 07:00 to manage our Tesco operations at our Widnes depot. You’ll be leading your team to ensure overnight – time critical service levels are maintained whilst ensuring that the 350 assets are constantly compliant.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £40,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays pro rata. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
* Management of 14 office colleagues and 210 ungraded colleagues (excluding agency) plus subcontractors
* Manage the overall operation of the depot on a night-to-night basis ensuring that agreed targets are achieved in line with business and customer requirements.
* Monitor planning and dispatch performance and make decisions to protect Customer Service
* Ensure the Site is legally compliant by ensuring correct processes are in place, have an owner and are monitored.
* Ensure reporting deadlines are met for both Financial and Compliance requirements.
* Proactively promote a health & safety culture
* Support & encourage a good team working spirit and ensure that the transport team work effectively with the Planning team and communicate frequently to achieve the business objectives
* Follow all HR requirements in relation to disciplinary, absence management and return to work situations
* Maximise the potential of new employees by ensuring their operational and psychological engagement and their continual development within the business.
* Ensure appropriate understanding to enable individuals to meet their role requirements and to create involvement and engagement through two-way communication mechanisms.
