Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Leicester or Birmingham
Location: Leicester or Birmingham (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (DOE)
Progression: Fast-track to Associate Director
A respected, multi-disciplinary consultancy with a national presence is seeking a Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join its established team in either Leicester or Birmingham. With an expanding project pipeline and strong reputation in both public and private sectors, this is a fantastic opportunity for a talented professional to take the next step in their career — with a clear and rapid route to Associate Director.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in quantity surveying, cost consultancy, and project management, along with strong client-side exposure. While chartered status (MRICS) is preferred, applications are welcome from candidates working towards professional accreditation. You should be confident managing projects independently, liaising with multiple stakeholders, and delivering high-quality outcomes across the residential, commercial, education, retail, leisure, and healthcare sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage individual projects from inception to completion
2. Act as Employer's Agent and lead multidisciplinary teams
3. Oversee budgets, programmes, and contractual compliance
4. Produce accurate cost plans and manage change control
5. Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants
6. Chair meetings and provide regular progress reports
7. Ensure adherence to H&S regulations and industry standards
What We're Looking For:
1. Minimum 2 years' experience in quantity surveying, cost consultancy, and project management
2. Excellent client-facing skills and commercial awareness
3. Strong understanding of construction contracts (JCT essential)
4. Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
5. Confident communicator and team player
6. Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
7. Working towards MRICS or already chartered
