We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Officer to join our Estates team at our Selby College campus. As a Security Officer, you will provide an essential front of house service, ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors to the College.
The Security Officer role is varied, with no two days being the same. You will undertake security duties to ensure that the campus is opened and closed, secured, and alarmed at agreed times, and conduct regular patrols to monitor security, reporting any issues through the appropriate channels. You will also monitor student behavior, intervening and managing behaviors when appropriate, promoting a positive College ethos at all times, and reporting inappropriate behavior to a duty manager.
We are looking for someone who can communicate at all levels and has the ability to remain calm and professional in a range of situations, quickly assessing and diffusing situations in line with College policies and values.
As a Security Officer, you should:
* Have previous experience of front line security
* Hold a SIA Licence
* Be First Aid trained or willing to undertake this training
* Have good communication and interpersonal skills
