Job Purpose
The Head of Marketing will lead the planning and implementation of the school’s marketing strategy, enhancing our reputation and maximising the number of enquiries and prospective family visits.
Reporting to the Head, this is an exciting role which is both strategic and hands on and will be instrumental in shaping the school’s future. The role demands a strategic thinker with senior-level experience in marketing and brand management, strategic communication and engagement, with exceptional interpersonal skills, and a proven track record in impactful campaigns.
The successful postholder will also oversee the day-to-day aspects of marketing, fostering relationships within the school community to promote engagement and collaboration. They will ensure consistent communication with current and prospective families, work in close collaboration with the admissions team to manage open days and feeder events and organise initiatives promoting the school’s culture and ethos. The role would suit an enthusiastic, energetic, creative and driven professional who can work as a team player to nurture strong links and build excellent relationships within the Crosfields community and beyond.
The Head of Marketing line manages the Marketing Manager who currently oversees the Digital Marketing Coordinator.
Key responsibilities
* Create and execute a strategic marketing plan to increase awareness of the school and to boost enquiries and prospective family visits.
* Manage all elements of the Crosfields brand to ensure the brand remains consistent with the values, character and objectives of the school.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders including feeder schools, local businesses and community groups.
* Raise our profile across a wider geographical area through management and delivery of day-to-day marketing activity.
* Provide a strategic oversight of the school website to ensure its continued evolution and that it provides a first-rate user experience for both current and prospective families.
* With the support of the Senior Leadership Team, lead on all marketing and admissions events including Open Days and Feeder/Taster events.
* Track and report the performance of marketing campaigns modifying strategies as required to achieve targeted outcomes.
* Organise and manage events to elevate the school’s brand.
* Develop and oversee the execution of marketing campaigns across various sites.
* Plan and manage marketing budgets ensuring successful distribution of resources.
* Coordinate and oversee calendars accordingly to school events.
* Continuously develop own knowledge of relevant marketing strategies.
* Embrace growth and expand opportunities for all aspects of marketing.
* Regularly communicate progress of marketing KPI’s to the Head and Board.
Person specification
* Degree in marketing, or equivalent qualification
* Proven experience in strategic marketing, (within the education sector, is highly desirable)
* Relevant experience in managing staff
* Experience in managing social media platforms and measuring their effectiveness
* Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, SEO, and analytics
* A strong and creative passion for social media and other online and offline marketing platforms
* Strong analytical skills
* Elevated attention to detail with a high level of accuracy Impeccable communication and managerial skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Knowledge and experience with managing budgets
