About the role A can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, and a nurturing approach are essential to succeed as one of our engagement coaches. You will engage with young people, support their behaviors and listening skills and encourage a positive outlook towards learning. Experience working in a SEND setting, particularly students with ASD and ADHD would be an advantage, as well as experience working in a PRU and an understanding of restorative practice. You will develop activities and resources to meet the needs of students, consult with the school lead to set targets and report on progress and behaviors. Supporting student resilience, social, emotional, mental health and wellbeing is a key part of this role. Flexibility is essential for this role as no two days are the same. You will be joining a committed team that wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people. This is an onsite role and will be based in our Hillingdon provision. Role and responsibilities Ensure that all engagement sessions are planned and delivered to a high-level To assist where necessary and support those who need extra on 1-1 To support the participation, retention, and progression of students to get the best outcomes Work with the Lead to plan and deliver sessions. Attend and engage in all relevant staff meetings and maintain effective communication with staff, students and other relevant stakeholders. To undertake training and CPD as necessary and relevant to the role Be familiar with the LMP Code of Conduct and all operational, Health & Safety, Child Protection and Data Protection policies. Ensure the safeguarding and protection of children in your care by adhering to all relevant policies and procedures, maintaining a vigilant and proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential risks, and promoting a safe and supportive environment for all students. About you As an LMP Engagement Coach, you will be enthusiastic about young people and education. You will use this in the post to increase participation and engagement among students. This post's main aim is to deliver support, mentoring and coaching to students in our Alternative Provision. The Engagement Coach will deliver activities including team-building games, building social interaction, critical thinking activities, sports and restorative practice. You will play a pivotal role in mentoring and supporting the students' needs and aiding the retention of students on the course. Education and Experience DBS (essential) Coaching, Mentoring, Assessing or Teaching qualification 3 or more years of experience working with 11-16-year-olds. Experience in delivering training and working in diverse education, community and/or sports environments. Experience of working with young people who are hard to engage.
