Job summary The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH)is looking for an enthusiastic caring person who is passionate about patient care to join our team in the X-ray department at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. This post is varied and interesting with a rotation into different areas such as MRI, CT and ultrasound scanning as well as working closely with the general team and liaising with other departments. The X-ray department operates a 24 hour service 7 days per week. duties are 7.5 hours long (with a 30 minute break). There is some flexibility in the rostering of these as rostered days off and specific shifts can be requested in advance via the e-Roster (roster released 6 weeks in advance). Swapping of duties with colleagues once the roster has been released is also available. The X-ray team are friendly and supportive, valuing all members. A full induction programme ensures that all new members are fully supported when joining us. Main duties of the job Care for patients, carers, visitors, and relatives during their visit to the Department. To act as chaperone in line with Trust policy. To help with the movement of patients in the examination rooms To use the Radiology information system (CRIS) to record the patients Radiology episode. To comply with the Trusts policies To maintain associated records, both paper and electronic To ensure equipment is used correctly and any faults or concerns are reported to senior staff. To liaise with a wide range of staff caring for the patient- including medical staff, ward staff, staff from other department. To participate in the departments out of hour's service. To assist with audit projects as require About us SaTH has recently been awarded in excess of £300 million to invest in our services in order to provide sustainable patient care for the future. The successful candidate must be able to participate in the 7 Day Working roster and be able to work as part of a large multidisciplinary team. They must have good communication skills, be computer literate and be able to cope with an ever changing workload in order to be reactive to our patients complex needs.
