With 17 Auction Centres across the UK we provide a physical and online auction facility to buyers and sellers handling a variety of different types of vehicles. Vehicle Solutions is an evolving business supporting customer de-fleet, multiple remarketing channels and a complete range of vehicle preparation services. Inspection Services is the number one provider of end of lease vehicle inspection and collection services and our Car Buying services consisting of Money4YourMotors.com & Wewantanycar.com that purchases cars from the public which Manheim then sell at Auction.
The HR function defines and delivers the HR strategies which will under pin the People strategy across the organisation.
As a part of the wider HR team, the HR Advisor will support the Cox Automotive businesses in driving the group HR strategy by providing proactive support and advice within all aspects of HR, utilising HR models, policies, procedures and best practice. They will provide a fair and consistent approach to policies and procedures and support line managers or Team Members on employment legislation and its application.
Scope of Role:
Responsible for providing general HR support and service on all aspects of the Team Member journey within the Cox Automotive UK Group.
The HR Advisor will contribute to business objectives by ensuring all HR initiatives, processes and procedures are aligned.
Supporting on the delivery of the Cox Automotive HR strategy, the HR advisor role helps to resolve issues raised, where possible using HR expertise, and by working through a partnership approach with the business and other HR professionals.
Objectives for Role:
Employee Relations
* Provide ongoing support on ER matters to line managers by advising on employment legislation, Cox Automotive UK policies and procedures, assisting in all necessary meetings and providing tailored solutions
* Provide advice, guidance and recommendation in regard to absence management both short-term and long-term cases
* Provide support and guidance on disciplinary and grievance issues in line with company policies and procedures
* Support line managers in effectively managing and enhancing team member performance
* Support line managers in the consideration of flexible working requests and arrangements in line with the company policy
* Identifies whether escalation is appropriate, dependent upon the ER case /issue raised.
Internal Relationship Management
* Builds and develops effective and efficient relationships with the business and the HR function.
* Proactively encourages team members to use the intranet (HUB) as a source on HR policy and guidelines
* Identifies managers who require training to mitigate future risk or escalation of issues
* Contributes to ensuring a seamless delivery of HR services to the business utilising constructive, challenge and questioning approach.
* Works as a team member, sharing ideas and coaching other HRA’s to ensure a consistent application and interpretation of policies and legislation
* Champions customer service at the forefront of every interaction.
Team Member Employee Engagement
* Share knowledge and information on our engagement surveys and process to both line managers and team members
* Drive team member engagement through effective action planning and delivery based on local engagement data and team member feedback
* Supports the launch of HR Initiatives and policies providing a reference point for team members and line managers
Resourcing and Recruitment
* Support ongoing recruitment to attract future talent, driving local plans and activity including high volume recruitment campaigns
* Provide support on effective induction processes and team member onboarding to ensure retention and gain valuable feedback on the candidate experience
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
* Proven track record as a HR Generalist
* Ability to analyse MI or HR Data and make recommendation on continuous improvement
* Strong commercial awareness
* Ability to build strong relationships at all levels within the organisation
* Confident in presenting
* Excellent written and communication skills
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Strong Employee Relations background
* Up to date Employment Law knowledge
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple work streams / case loads
* Able to work collaboratively with the wider HR team
