Purpose of Role: The main goal of this role is to oversee the logistics and customs procedures related to customer orders, ensuring an efficient and prompt operation. Main Accountabilities: Manage the logistics associated with customer orders for the UK and EU, including the handling of export and import customs procedures for EU shipments. Coordinate orders across various transportation modes, ensuring the accuracy of loading lists and freight accruals while preparing all necessary documentation for timely order dispatch and customs compliance. Collaborate with the site scheduler to confirm that materials are ready for dispatch within the agreed timelines and provide cost-effective solutions for non-standard requests to fulfil customer requirements. Work in close partnership with the customer service team to keep all supply chain stakeholders informed and ensure that customer orders are successfully completed. Assist the supply chain team with daily operations and data collection, as well as support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tasks as needed. Ensure the company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies are adhered to and developed within the team. Contribute to departmental projects as required. Person Specification Candidates should possess experience in an administrative capacity, preferably in logistics, customs, or manufacturing sectors. Educational qualifications should reach at least GCSE level, with strong performance in English and Mathematics. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential, experience in SAP would be desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, and the candidate must be adaptable, willing to address issues that arise outside of regular hours when they occur. Why Synthomer?
